Irene Grau

Irene Grau (Valencia, 1986) is a prominent artist linked to radical monochrome painting, conceptual art, and ecology. Her work, internationally awarded and present in prestigious museums and collections such as IVAM, CA2M, or the Ministry of Culture, moves between performative processes, mural intervention, and ecology. Throughout her career, she investigates the limits of pictorial representation, integrating space and nature from a conceptual, critical perspective deeply connected to the landscape environment.
«ø»
Bound for «Biotopías 5» at Parque Doramas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Irene Grau presents «ø», a site-specific intervention that measures the diameter of the trees at an exact height of 150 centimeters—the pictorial visual axis—using copper or gold wire. This performative action generates photographic documentation and culminates in a sculptural piece suspended over the pond. By intertwining all the measurements, the work elegantly highlights the combined and collective value of the park’s tree canopy.
